- Peritonitis
- SYMPTOMS. Signs may include constant severe abdominal pain that is worsened
- by movement, nausea, vomiting, chills, fever and diarrhea.
- CAUSES may be by infection or irritation from chemicals or organisms that
- penetrate into the peritoneum. This may be the result of a perforated ulcer,
- ruptured spleen, ruptured gallbladder or bladder. The peritoneum is the
- membrane that lines the abdominal cavity and covers the abdominal organs.
- TREATMENT. Consult your doctor immediately. Surgery should be expected.
